Evaluation Summary
Comprehensive evaluations of the Full Service Community Schools show that the work of the Full Service Community Schools is vital to the well-being of the students, families, and the community they serve. The work involves many challenges. Though there remains room for development and growth, data show that the FSCS programs are already making a significant impact on students who participate in their programs. FSCS participation leads to improved behavior, improved grades in some subjects, greater orientation toward learning, more positive peer relationships, and improved self-esteem, among other benefits. By helping to meet the full range of needs of each participant, the initiative also benefits parents, teachers, and the community.
